23 June 2022 – EmailMajor Upgrade for SOGo Web Portal

The SOGo webmail interface allows users of a standard, automatically created university email account to access their emails, appointments and contacts. After a major upgrade, the web portal is now available at a new web address.

Effective immediately, you can become acquainted with the new interface by using your email account via browser at:

https://sogo02.urz.uni-heidelberg.de

The completely revamped web portal offers several advantages:

  • Substantially redesigned, modern user interface
  • Responsive display on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets
  • Advanced security features

After 22 August 2022, https://sogo.uni-heidelberg.de will direct you to the new system.

If your email account has been set up on Exchange, you can use the Outlook web app by accessing https://exchange.uni-heidelberg.de. If you are unsure of which account you use, please contact your IT representative.

Migrate contacts, appointments, out-of-office messages and forwarding

Your emails and mailbox folder setup will automatically appear on the new webmail interface. Forwarding and out-of-office messages will not show up in the new SOGo, but they will still be active if they have been set up in the old SOGo. You will need to manually transfer your address book and calendar as well as out-of-office messages and forwarding settings from the old SOGo version. How to do this in only a few steps is described in the linked how-to.

During a transition period, you will be able to access the old SOGo version at

https://sogo01.urz.uni-heidelberg.de

to help you complete this migration.

After 22 August 2022, https://sogo.uni-heidelberg.de will direct you to the new system.
