How-To Update your changed password in Duplicati
If you use Duplicati to create backups of your data on the URZ backup server, you need to update the password to connect Duplicati to the backup server. Duplicati is only available for staff members with Uni-IDs and cannot be used with URZ project numbers.
1. Start Duplicati:
2. Open the configuration settings for your backup profile via Configuration -> Edit…

3. Under 2: Destination -> Password enter the changed password for your Uni-ID.

4. Attention: Please remember that Duplicai uses two passwords: one connection password for connecting to the URZ backup server and one encryption passphrase for encrypting your data on the URZ backup server.
Please only update the connection password. The encryption passphrase cannot be changed and has nothing to do with the password for your Uni-ID. The encryption password will always remain the password you set during the initial Duplicai setup. Therefore, please remember your encryption password or, ideally, use KeePass XC to manage your passwords.

5. After changing the connection password, save your configuration settings via 5 – Options -> Save.

6.Recommendation: Export a backup of your Duplicati configuration profile. This gives you the ability to quickly and easily restore the profile should your computer ever need to be reinstalled or replaced. Click Configuration -> Export -> Export. The file will be saved under your Downloads folder. Recommendation: Move it from Downloads to your heiBOX in My Library, e.g. in a separate folder for your IT matters.
