How-To Set up an Exchange account in Apple Mail
Below you will find step-by-step instructions on how to set up an Exchange account in Apple Mail.
1. Start Apple Mail.
2. Click on the “Mail” button.
3. Select the “Accounts ...” option from the drop-down menu.
4. Select the “Exchange” option.
5. Enter your name, your work e-mail address and your password. The password is the same as the one you use to log in to the Exchange web interface.
6. Click on the “Log in” button.
7. Fill in the new window as follows:

User name: Depending on the assignment of your Exchange mailbox, use your Uni-ID or project number according to the following scheme:
- ad\<uni-id> or
- ad\<project number>
- Internal URL:
https://exchange.uni-heidelberg.de/EWS/Exchange.asmx
- External URL:
https://exchange.uni-heidelberg.de/EWS/Exchange.asm
8. Confirm your entries with “Login”.
9. Complete the setup with “Done”.
