How-To Setting Up the Spam Folder in SOGo

This guide describes how to set up and configure the Spam folder in the SOGo webmail client.

1. Log in to SOGo Webmail (https://sogo.uni-heidelberg.de) using your university ID and the corresponding password.

2. Right-click on the mailbox in the menu. Select “New Folder.”

3. A field for entering a name will appear. Name the new folder (e.g., “Spam”). Click “OK.”

4. In the SOGo interface menu, select “Settings.” Click “Email,” then click “Filters.” You can now add a filter by clicking the “+” icon.

5. Now enter a name for the new filter (e.g., “Spam”). Then make the following selection:

  • For incoming messages that: [match at least one of the following rules]
  • [Subject] [matches the regular expressions]
    ^\[(VIRUS|SPAM|SPAM\?|SPOOFED\?)\]
  • Perform the following action: [move the message to] [Spam]

Then click “Save and Close” in the menu at the top left.
