17 November 2023 – Reasearch Data ManagementData Hour: Online seminars on research data management
From planning, publication and archiving to subsequent use: the professional handling of research data is one of the most important prerequisites for scientific activity today. In order to support scientists in the professional handling of research data, the Competence Center for Research Data (KFD) is once again offering the "Data Hour" lecture series.
The Data Hour is a monthly series of short webinars on various aspects of research data management, in which experts present methods, services and tools. The seminar series is open to all members of Heidelberg University. Interested researchers and RDM managers have the opportunity to ask specific questions, get advice and expand their network.
Registration is not required
You can simply participate via the university video conferencing service heiCONF and the adjacent link, no registration is required.
Digital research data is diverse and is generated in various disciplines during scientific activities, e.g. through measurements, surveys or source work. This includes, for example, laboratory data, audiovisual data, simulations, bibliographies, survey results, texts or software used. The aim of research data management is to make the data accessible, reusable and verifiable for the research community over the entire life cycle in the long term and independently of individuals.

You can find more information about RDM on the page of the Competence Centre for Research Data (KFD) and on the linked website forschungsdaten.info. The KFD is a joint service facility of the University Library and the Heidelberg University Computing Centre. The KFD offers central services for archiving and publishing research data in order to support the members of the university in the best possible way in the comprehensive and uniform management of research data.
Every two years, the interdisciplinary conference series E-Science Days around RDM and Open Science takes place in Heidelberg.
