Service announcement - 24 April 2026 VPN servers will be restarted on the evening of April 24, 2026

The VPN servers vpn-ac.uni-heidelberg.de and vpnrsvX.urz.uni-heidelberg.de had to be restarted on short notice on the evening of April 24 due to urgently recommended updates.
This resulted in the loss of many user sessions, and for some unlucky users, this happened multiple times.

We apologize for the inconvenience. The “standard” update procedure involves waiting 24 hours per server until all sessions have expired; this would have taken too long overall.
