For security reasons, sending emails via the university's outgoing mail server mail.urz.uni-heidelberg.de is currently only possible from end devices within Germany (in the area of the top-level domain "DE") or with a VPN connection to Germany (e.g. to the university VPN server).

• This applies to sending emails from applications such as Outlook or Thunderbird.
• Emails can still be sent without restriction via the webmail interface SOGo.
• Exchange email accounts are not affected by this measure.
