ProjectIMI-PainCare

Toolbox for developing of novel painkillers

Patients with a wide range of conditions may experience pain in the short or long term, and all too often, painkillers prove ineffective. Developing new analgesics is extremely challenging, and promising results in the lab frequently do not translate into effective treatments for patients. The goal of IMI-PainCare is to develop a toolbox that will aid in the development of novel painkillers. The project comprises three sub-projects, which address all stages of drug development, from early-stage research to clinical practice. The IMI-PainCare consortium plans to work with regulating authorities to validate the developed tools.

The University Computing Centre supports these medical research projects by providing IT and support services. Database and file system servers are supplied for cross-site data management with the corresponding rights and role management. For data collection, we operate a REDCap service, and for data analysis, we provide and support on-demand applications.
