At the Mathematikon, Ms. Pakosta delivered a keynote address on the topic “Democracy in the Digital Age: Estonia’s Experience with Trust, AI, and Resilience.”  Following this, the Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs took questions from the large audience (primarily students of political science and computer science) during an interactive discussion session. An engaging discussion ensued, focusing on cybersecurity and resilience, both from a technical perspective and in terms of social and political implications. Notable was the description of Estonia’s innovative digitalization strategy in the public sector, which ranks among the most advanced approaches in Europe.

Finally, in a smaller group, the possibilities for cooperation between Estonia and Heidelberg at the university level were discussed. The participants are certain that identifying specific areas of cooperation would be extremely beneficial both academically and socially. Further discussions are planned accordingly.
