Local Access
In order to use bwGRiD cluster Heidelberg with a local account, you need
- a URZ project number and
- its activation for bwGRiD.
URZ project number
How to obtain a URZ project number and who is authorized to do so, is explained on this page. If you already have a project number, you can also use it for bwGRiD and request its activation. Student IDs can be activated for certain projects (e.g. diploma thesis, bachelor thesis) as well.
Activation for bwGRiD
The activation for bwGRiD is possible, if your project will contribute to research and education of the University. Please, send an e-mail containing the following information:

Once the activation is completed, you will be notified by e-mail.
The project descriptions are collected and later on published at http://www.bw-grid.de/projekte/. Updates of your project description, pictures, publications and links can be send to dgrid-support@listserv.uni-heidelberg.de anytime.
Grid Access
In order to use bwGRiD cluster Heidelberg and the clusters of the other bwGRiD sites with a Grid account, you need
- a DFN Grid certificate,
- a membership in the VO bwGRiD and
- a middleware client.
